the New Head Coach Steve Marcil
Q: Are you excited about your new head coaching job for the
women's basketball team at Westfield State College ?
A: I am absolutely thrilled, I thought that my experience at
AIC would get me a head coaching job at the high school level,
but never at the college level.
Q: How do you plan on running the program?
A: Tough nosed. They have a outstanding program and I want to
take it to the next step.
Q: How many years of experience do you have ?
A: This is the end of my 5th year coaching woman's college basketball.
Q: About how many hours a week will you put into the team
?
A: Anywhere from 20 to 30 hours, but during the season it's a
very busy time of the year. Everything has something to do with
basketball.
Q: What will some of your duties and responsibilities be as
the head coach?
A: I,m in charge of everything including planning out the practices,
scouting players, and scouting other teams.
Q: Since you are the head coach of the team, do you get to
pick your own staff ?
A: Yes, right now I have one girl that is committed and I am
talking to another coach. I will have one maybe two assistants.
Q: What division is Westfield State in, and what teams do
you play ?
A: We,re division three, and we play in the ECAC division. We
play against Framingham State, Fitchburg State, Bridgewater State,
Mass College of Liberal Arts, Worcester State, and Salem State.

coming season will be ?
