Gabrielle Richard-Harrington is the founder and publisher of Sport-Spot, the only publication in Western Massachusetts that covers all sports in which area residents participate.

"Gaby" has lived in - and loved - this region since 1982. She earned her first Master's degree from Smith College in Coaching and Exercise and Sport Studies, and has spent the past 18 years here as an athletic director, teacher, athlete, parent, coach and umpire.

Looking for the best way to provide a regional sports information source for area fans, Gaby recently returned to school to obtain a Master's Degree in Internet Strategies and Web Site Design. With her background and expertise, she has now combined her love of sports with the incredible technology of the Internet, launching the creative and innovative Sport-Spot web site! Comprehensive coverage will be provided by area students submitting reports from their own schools and towns. Area students can improve their writing skills and have fun while gaining valuable career experience.

"I am so excited about students, coaches, faculty, parents, athletes, and sports enthusiasts coming together here with a common purpose," Gaby bubbles. It is also a great opportunity for students interested in sports journalism to write and take photographs for Sport-Spot.

"And the beauty of all this is that none of us can make this work alone -it will require what sports are truly about: teamwork!"
